IT is a huge industry with a rather extended supply chain and overlapping solutions for users who are not so well understood . So it comes as no wonder that original intent of IT expenditure is completely lost upon the end suppliers of service.  It can be safely said that it is a CIO's reponsibility to drive through the message provided by business. In coming days I will be writing a bit more about what can be done to push Business-IT alignment depeer into IT groups/organizations.

Intra-IT alignment is an extension to above because I believe that the IT organization lacking internal alignment between various groups is unlikely to succesfully align with Business.
